Wikipedia defines e-currency as: electronic currency that is used for electronic transactions in lieu of conventional currency. Another term often used for e-currency, namely: e-money, electronic cash, digital cash, digital currency, payment processor, etc.. A common currency used is U.S. Dollar. There is also the use of which Euros, Foundsterling or precious metals like gold and silver.E-currency service is managed by a network of sites on the Internet with a different name. For example: Paypal, Liberty Reserve, E-Gold, C-Gold, WebMoney, AlertPay, and many more e-currency provider's site. Like the currency in everyday life (conventional currency), e-currency can be used to various purposes especially in relation to payment transactions in cyberspace. Most people use e-currency to facilitate payment when performing activities that require the exchange of currency, for example when shopping in online stores, buying certain items on a site, transfer money to another party's account, savings, transactions on the online business and so on. The existence of e-currency has long been recognized and accepted as valid currency at many sites. This is because of its simplicity that makes the user more interested in using e-currency compared to other means to transact online.
